Design 3D City with SkecthUp

Great tutorial from Design Shack on creating a 3D city using Trimble SketchUp. It really comes in handy when looking for unique perspective shot.

Trimble SketchUp is one of the most simplest and powerful 3D software available. What makes it even better is the fact that its free. The free version that will allow to create models and has the same tools as the professional version minus a some export options. The tutorial takes about an hour or so to complete. Once you get to the portion where you start creating the buildings you are free to go your own way or continue following tutorial, which ever your more comfortable with. The banner image was created using my current city model. A few tweaks have been made here and there to the model, but the major look is something I'm happy with it.

Below are two examples showing the use of the city model to create background.
